The electrical problems they see

Electricians, the electrical problems they see

Emergency Electrician Prince Georges, here, and we wanted to discuss a fairly common topic that we have noticed with our clients as of late. We have received many questions "Is this normal?" Or "Is this a common problem?" Recently about our projects and our calls. This got us thinking; perhaps people would be interested in learning a little about what electrical problems regularly encounter.

What would we consider a fairly normal problem? And what would be strange? Answers to this and more today in:

Common problems handled by the electricians

No problem is ever "normal" per se. That's why it's a problem! But there are certainly some problems that we see regularly:

Broken, failed, or useless outlets.

More common for older homes and buildings, outlets that have become defective are a fairly regular problem. Over time, the wiring in the outlets settles and begins to make contact that it shouldn't, causing the outlet to snap or become inactive.

Poor or defective appliance wiring.

Usually, this is due to poor electrical work, or Do-It-Yourself (Not at all against do-it-yourself solutions, we think those types of projects don't belong when a small mistake can mean a house on fire!). Incorrectly connected appliances can turn on, operate sporadically or create power surges.

Flashing or stuttering lights.

Tests of power surges or a breaker box, this problem may actually be the most frequent problem.

Generator failure

Most homeowners leave a generator completely unattended until they need it. This can be a problem, as over time they may begin to wear out or not remain operational. Regular generator maintenance is important!

Why are these issues important?

So why does it seem like it's a good idea to guess about the most common electrical repairs? Partly because the information is fun, but mostly because the problem is the keyword here. Understanding that these common problems are indeed the problems that should be looked into by the electricians is important.

Any examples of poor wiring, flickering lights, under-maintained equipment, or fun electrical activities generally should be addressed immediately! Leaving them alone or ignoring them can be dangerous or lead to much bigger electrical problems. So they handled them by a professional electrician right away!
